The Hungarian government has purchased medical equipment worth a combined HUF 2 billion (EUR 5.5m) under the Healthy Budapest Program, aimed at helping efforts to fight the coronavirus epidemic.

Human Resources Minister Miklós Kásler said that the equipment, including mobile disinfecting robots, mobile x-rays, incubators, and hospital beds, have been distributed between 17 hospitals.

Originally, the program was launched in 2017 with the aim to modernize hospitals in the greater Budapest area, using a budget of HUF 700 billion until 2026.
