High-tech robotic surgical equipment is now supporting patient care at Szent Magdolna Private Hospital in Budapest. The hospital announced on Tuesday that the da Vinci Single-Port (SP) robotic surgery system is available exclusively at its facility in Hungary.

The device enables surgeons to perform complex procedures through a single small entry point, allowing patients to expect less pain, smaller scars, and faster recovery times. The hospital stated that the first operations using the system have already been completed successfully.

The da Vinci SP is one of the most advanced robotic-assisted surgical platforms currently available.

It is used in procedures including cancer surgery, gynecological operations, urological surgery, and general surgery, and it also offers new possibilities for the surgical treatment of endometriosis.

The introduction of the system was preceded by extensive international preparation.

Specialists at the hospital were trained in the use of the da Vinci SP by a robotic surgery expert from Dubai, enabling Hungarian patients to access the same expertise and technology used at leading healthcare centers around the world.

The statement notes that approximately 500 da Vinci SP robotic surgery systems are currently in operation worldwide, and only a handful of institutions in Europe use this technology.
